Its all about the ingrediants.
Making the best hot chocolate is made by listening to the name; as it tells you exactly what you need to do. There must be chocolate and it must be hot.
So...
Thats right. This recipe calls for chocolate (coaco level of your preferance; I prefer 72 and higher) and milk;
Ingrediants:
bar of chocolate
milk(I use oat milk, but any milk will work)
Optional ingrediants:
vanilla extract
cinnamon
honey or myple syrup to sweeten
Directions:
1 Measure how much hot chocolate you'll need by pouring the milk into the cup you'll be serving it in and transfering to the pot on the stove (repeat for however many cups you'll be serving).
2 To the pot with the milk, add a smidge of vanilla and a dusting of cinnamon(cinnamon can be omitted but I really recommend adding the vanilla)
3 Bring the milk to a simmer in a pot on medium heat. Stirring occasionally.
4 break the chocolate and begin to add 3 squares.
Depending on your hankering, it'll be up to you how much chocolate you add. Have a
tasting spoon nearby to help you reach chocolate heaven.
5 Make sure to keep a pretty consistant stir going as the chocolate melts and intergrates into the milk.
2024 edit:
Recently I've been making an adaptogenic hot chocolate.
To the pot I melt dark chocolate(85%-of course up to you)
Then I add:
a bit of milk
2 Tbs cacao powder
1tsp reishi powder
1tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/8tsp cayenne pepper
I froth this until there are no clumps. Then, I add honey and more milk. I let the entire concoction heat before enjoying.
